Cancellation & Refund Policy - SinamFor Events
Last updated: April 2026
This Cancellation & Refund Policy ("Policy") explains how cancellations, postponements, rescheduling, and refund requests are handled on the SinamFor Events platform ("SinamFor", "we", "our", "us"). Because SinamFor Events operates a hybrid marketplace model, event organizers receive payments directly through their connected payment accounts and are responsible for handling cancellations and refunds.
By purchasing a ticket, creating an event, or using our Services, you agree to this Policy.
1. Marketplace Structure
SinamFor provides tools for event creation, ticketing, and payment routing.
However:
- SinamFor is not the event organizer
- SinamFor is not the seller of tickets
- SinamFor is not the merchant of record
- SinamFor does not receive or hold attendee funds
- Organizers receive payments directly through their connected payment accounts
Organizers are fully responsible for all cancellation and refund obligations.
2. Organizer Responsibilities
Organizers must:
- Set a clear cancellation/refund policy for each event
- Process refund requests submitted by attendees
- Comply with consumer protection laws
- Respond to cancellation/refund requests promptly
- Handle chargebacks and disputes
- Maintain sufficient funds to cover refunds
- Honor refunds required by law or by this Policy
Organizers who fail to meet these obligations may be suspended or removed.
3. Refund Options (Organizer-Selected)
Organizers must choose one of the following refund options when creating an event:
- Option A: Refunds allowed for cancellations made up to 7 days before the event
- Option B: Refunds allowed for cancellations made up to 48 hours before the event
- Option C: Refunds allowed for cancellations made up to 24 hours before the event
- Option D: No refunds for cancellations
Default Policy: If no option is selected, Option B applies:
"Refunds are allowed for cancellations made up to 48 hours before the event."
Organizers may not create custom refund text unless approved by SinamFor.
4. How to Cancel a Ticket or Request a Refund
Attendees must follow this procedure:
Step 1: Submit a cancellation/refund request
Requests must be submitted through:
- The SinamFor app (if available)
- The organizer’s contact information provided in the ticket confirmation
Step 2: Include required information
Attendees must provide:
- Full name
- Ticket ID or QR code
- Event name
- Reason for cancellation (optional unless required by organizer)
Step 3: Organizer response
Organizers must:
- Acknowledge the request within a reasonable time
- Approve or deny the request based on their refund policy
- Issue the refund through their payment provider if approved
Important:
A cancellation/refund request is considered "submitted" at the time the attendee sends it, not when the organizer reads it.
5. Event Cancellations, Postponements & Rescheduling
This section distinguishes organizer-initiated changes from attendee-initiated changes.
A. Organizer-Initiated Cancellations
If the organizer cancels the event:
- A full refund must be issued to all attendees
- Refunds must be processed promptly
- Organizers may not charge cancellation fees
B. Organizer-Initiated Postponements or Rescheduling
If the organizer postpones or reschedules the event:
- Attendees may keep their ticket for the new date
- OR request a refund if they cannot attend
- Refunds are not automatic — attendees must submit a request
- Organizers must honor refund requests in this situation
C. Attendee-Initiated Changes
If an attendee wants to:
- Change their attendance date
- Reschedule their participation
- Attend a different session
This is not a valid reason for a refund, as long as the attendee eventually attends the event.
Organizers may voluntarily accommodate such requests, but are not required to.
6. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will not be issued if:
- The request is submitted after the refund window
- The attendee misses the event
- The attendee changes their mind
- The attendee reschedules themselves
- The event proceeds as planned
- The organizer has a "No Refunds" policy
- The attendee violates event rules
Organizers may issue voluntary refunds at their discretion.
7. Platform Fees
SinamFor charges a platform fee for each ticket sold.
- Platform fees are automatically deducted at purchase
- Platform fees are non-refundable, even if a refund is issued
This will be clearly displayed during checkout.
8. Disputes & Chargebacks
If an attendee cannot resolve a cancellation/refund issue with the organizer, they may:
- Open a dispute with the payment provider
- Report the organizer to SinamFor
- Request SinamFor to review the case
SinamFor may intervene only in cases of:
- Fraud
- Abuse
- Repeated organizer misconduct
SinamFor does not issue refunds or reverse transactions.
